Domestic violence

The fact that violence is committed within a couple constitutes an aggravating circumstance before the criminal court. Such violence may be psychological, physical, sexual or economic.

False accusation

False accusation, provided for and punishable under Article 226-10 of the French Criminal Code, is an offence defined as reporting, by any means and against a specific person, a fact likely to result in judicial, administrative or disciplinary sanctions, which the person making the report knows to be wholly or partially false, where the report is made to a judicial officer, an administrative or judicial police officer, an authority empowered to act upon it or refer it to the competent authority, or to the superiors or employer of the person accused.
